Is BRICKS a threat to the West?

The artificially created BRICKS currency has been around since 2006. Its function is designed and defined as an attempt to establish a universal currency for international business, which will help BRICKS members to be more secure against the so-called influence of the West. The first group of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa was joined by the United Arab Emirates, Iran, Egypt and Ethiopia in all these years until October 2024. Saudi Arabia is also mentioned.

The purpose of this year's meeting of BRICS members was also to increase the number of members, as more than 30 countries were expected to attend the meeting, and they tried to inspire them to accept BRICS in international trade by showing the growth of gross domestic product (GDP) or a measure of economic activity, or one of the indicators of the country's economic development.

According to the BRICKS alliance, the G7 (USA, Canada, Japan, France, Italy, Great Britain and Germany) are facing tough times. The best GDP, which is 3.2% on a global scale, is said to be in the USA at 2.7%. It is surpassed by the following members of the BRICS alliance: India (6.8%), Ethiopia (6.2%), China (4.6%), United Arab Emirates (3.5%), Iran (3.3%), Russia (3.2%) and Egypt (3.0%).

Other BRICS members, such as Saudi Arabia (2.6%), Brazil (2.2%) and South Africa (0.9%), still lag behind the 2.7% of GDP that the US is expected to have, as a member of the G7.

According to their data for 2024, all G7 members are also expected to lag behind the world's 3.2% of GDP, namely: the USA with 2.7%, Canada with 1.2%, Japan with 0.9%, France with 0.7%, Italy with 0.7%, Great Britain with 0.5% and Germany with 0.2%.

Of course, the members of BRICKS boasted this year also the exchange rate list for the euro and the US dollar. 1 BRICKS should thus cost 72 euros or 80 US dollars. In this way, or according to this exchange rate, the European Union and the USA should still be able to trade with members of the BRICKS group or alliance.

Of course, it is not yet clear whether BRICS members will slowly start using the common currency, or whether they will slowly start using it on the domestic market as well. In this case, the BRICKS currency would be quite similar to the story of the euro as the common currency of the member states of the European Union. The members of the BRICKS alliance do not yet discuss much in public about duty-free business within the BRICKS membership. But it is already clear that they are putting up some kind of trade wall in front of non-members of the BRICKS group.
