Illegal citizens

Most citizens of the entire world's human population know the costs of legal residence in a country. The more a country offers its citizens, and often also foreigners, the higher the contributions and taxes, of course, as a logical consequence. In

Every country requires registration of permanent residence, which also means that you must have a place to live. State authorities also require personal documents, which are also payable. I must not forget all the taxes. From the store, where hardworking citizens buy, and some steal. Also, all employed citizens pay all the benefits, from social contributions, to health and also education contributions, because then we have "free" social, health services and of course, if you meet the conditions, more than ten years of education "free", or free of charge. The state also offers its citizens long-term care and, of course, a protection supplement in addition to pensions. And of course, the state also provides certain socially vulnerable groups and individuals with accommodation or even an apartment. Of course, everything is based on special applications to the competent institutions and professional assessment of the application. The more skilled you are in drawing public funds, the more you get. Some citizens or foreigners get it for free, although the state tries to get part or all of the allocated funds back from the property owners, despite the fact that previous social contributions have been paid and public funds have become due for use through no fault of their own.

At first glance, we are an ideal country with a high standard, which is also tempting for foreigners. Some come to the country legally, while others enter the country or even stay in the country illegally.

In Slovenia, this year, probably due to threats of an attack on the European Union, of which we are a part, we are at first glance encountering a reduced number of illegal migrants. "Only" 7,655 foreign citizens crossed the Slovenian border illegally in the first five months of this year. The most common illegal migrants, however, crossed the border as citizens of Afghanistan, Egypt and Morocco. However, our Slovenian land is so tempting for them. Last year, there were 17,440 foreign citizens who did not know about legal entry into the country in the same period, with Syrian citizens leading the way.

In any case, whether the police have more time because there are not many illegal crossings across the Slovenian border, or the number of illegal crossings of the Slovenian border has decreased, or the border police are doing a better job, this year from January 1 to May 31, they found many more illegal residents in Slovenia, namely 1,020. This is the best. They are exempt from all the hassle of finding legal residence, arranging the necessary personal documents and of course all taxes, including any income and property taxes. The largest number of illegal residents in Slovenia are from Albania, North Macedonia, Serbia and Kosovo. Then come citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Moldova, Ukraine, Turkey, India and Uzbekistan, and some other countries. In the first five months of 2024, there were only 660 illegal residents of Slovenia, but this year the number has increased significantly. The largest number of illegal residents found in Slovenia in the first five months of 2024 were from Moldova, Albania, North Macedonia and Serbia, as well as Bosnia and Herzegovina.
